Residential FAQ

Q Can I pay my bill online?
A Yes, you can pay online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Checking or Savings accounts. There is no additional fee for this service.
Q What methods of payment do you accept by phone?
A We accept Visa and Mastercard by phone. There is no additional charge to pay by phone.
Q What time should I set my trash & recycling carts out?
A We start our routes at 6:00am each day. Please have your cart out by that time, or simply set it out the night before.  For our county customers, please have your cart accessible at the roadside the night before your service day, as pick up times may vary.
Q Where should I set my trash carts?
A Please place your cart within 2 feet of the curbside by 6:00am on your service day. For our county customers, please have your cart accessible at the roadside the night before your service day, as pick up times may vary.
Q How often is recycling picked up?
A Residential: Recycling is picked up every other week on the same day as trash. Calendars highlighting your recycle weeks are available for you to reference, and/or print, on our website under Residential Recycling.
Q Someone is illegally dumping in my container, who do I contact?
A Local Police or Your City's Inspection Office (Wichita's Inspection Office Ph# 316-268-4460)
Q What if I have extra trash, bulky items or need a special pickup?
A Please contact our office to schedule for extra trash, bulk items, or special pickup. Additional fees may apply. The weight limit on the cart is 200lbs.  Household trash only please!
Q What are your office hours?
A Office Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Q What is your holiday schedule?
A We are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If these fall on Monday-Friday, the day of the holiday and the following days we will run one day behind.
Q What does the 2020 Residential Disclosure Statement for Waste Connections of Kansas, Inc. say?
A For residential new customer service, Waste Connections of Kansas, Inc. does not charge a delivery fee. A $25 charge will be added to your account to pick up the cart for either non-payment or cancellation of service. If your service is interrupted for non-payment and your cart is picked up, a $15 re-delivery fee will be charged to your account.

For large special item pick-ups, such as a bed, sofa, washer or refrigerator, etc, please call the office at 316-838-4920 for pricing.

Subscription customers are allowed 10 extra bags, boxes or bundles of overflow for 95 gallon carts. For curb service, extra bags and boxes above the first 10 will be charged at $1.50 per bag or box. The charge will be $2.50 per bag or box if you have carryout service. For carts smaller than 95 gallon, any bags or boxes left beside the cart will be charged at $1.50 per bag or box.

As a reminder, we start working early, so please have your cart at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your service day.  Waste Connections of Kansas, Inc. will go back to pick up your trash on an off-route day for a fee of $35.00 inside the city limits.  County-off route is subject to availability.

We observe the following holidays:  New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  During the weeks of these three holidays only, the day of the holiday and the pick up days following will run one day late.  Waste Connections will collect trash on the following holidays:  Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.  For these holidays, we will collect trash on your normal pickup day.
